Swarmers Part II

The emergence of swarmers in a home after a termiticide treatment does not indicate a threat for a new infestation. At times, homeowners report swarms after having had termiticide treatment. It is possible that they are not connected to the treatment, rather the treatment simultaneously took place with a natural swarming cycle. In any case, the presence of swarmers after a treatment does not indicate a failed treatment. Homeowners may have their local Accurate Pest Management professional (PMP) come to control the swarmers, but usually vacuuming the dead swarmers is all that is needed. If there are swarmers present in a building that has not been treated, it is important to be cautious. The presence of a few swarmers in an untreated building is usually not a cause for concern. On the other hand, hundreds of swarmers in an untreated building could very well be an indicator of an infestation. If swarmers appear before a termiticide treatment, it is recommended to have your Accurate PMP do a thorough inspection to assess and offer the best method of control.
